I hope you’re enjoying our October book club pick, I’m Glad my Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy. Few memoirs have made as much as a stir as hers. And I’m excited to hear what you all thought of it in this month’s live book club discussion on Zoom.
I chose this book for the brave way in which McCurdy lifts up on curtain on child stardom and the unseen damage inflicted by her toxic “stage mom” who forced her to live out her own unlived acting dreams.
It’s a quick read, so it’s not too late to get your copy and finish it by next week. We’ll discuss the book next Thursday, the 27th at 3PM California time, 6PM in New York. If you can’t make the call, a recording of the discussion will be sent out to paying subscribers shortly thereafter.
Our live book club discussions are one of the perks of a paid membership, so if you’d like to join next week’s discussion click the button below to claim your free week-long trial of a paid membership. Not only do you get access to exclusive content, but your support helps me keep this project sustainable and (mostly) free for everyone else.
For those of you who are already paying subscribers - thank you again for your support. You’ll find the information for the Zoom call below as well as some discussion questions to guide our conversation.
Feel free to propose your own questions in the comment section below. I look forward to diving into these topics next week!
Best,
Marko
