The human experience is more than just our wins. Life is not just about happiness. It’s also failure, heartbreak and loss. And that’s why love stories can often feel sappy and make us want to barf. Because while not all of us will find ‘true love,’ everyone has experienced heartbreak.

Love and loss are the + and - charges of life that are fundamental to a good story. Because although it’s cute to hear about your love story, we all need a bit of drama to stay interested. Which is what makes this theme so powerful - and relatable.
